It's all about the Organic Ingredients

What makes our classic margarita recipe so skinny? It’s the fact that it only has 40 calories per serving (3oz), which is a true serving size and enough to make a true sized cocktail. Combined with the other healthy choices we made with our jalapeño margarita mixer recipe of having zero artificial additives. That means:

  • organic jalapeño puree that you can see in the bottle
  • organic fresh lime juice
  • organic agave nectar

And, to top it all off, the perfect amount of Himalayan Sea Salt gives the skinny margarita the perfect balance. It's our secret to a good margarita. So go ahead and enjoy our guilt-free margarita recipe all night long!

Who said Cinco de Mayo is only in... well, in May.

A Low-Calorie Margarita Doesn't Mean No Flavor

The resulting margarita made from our signature jalapeño margarita cocktail mixer is refreshing with a kick by only using fresh organic ingredients that actually have flavor. We do not add preservatives to hold the flavor for three years. Our products have a shelf life of one-year which ensures you’re always getting the freshest ingredients and bottles made from recent small batches.

A Little Spice Never Hurt Anyone

Level up your skinny margarita recipe by adding a little bit of heat! And did you know that jalapeños help you lose weight? We use fresh organic jalapeño puree in our signature mix, which helps boost your metabolism and increase fat burn while reducing your appetite.

Types of Tequila

You can use the best and freshest ingredients, but your drink will still taste terrible if you use bad tequila. Choosing the right tequila for your favorite margarita recipe is essential to a skinny margarita.

There are four types of tequila: Blanco (white), Reposado (rested), Añejo (aged), and Extra Añejo (very aged). All four types can make skinny margaritas, but we recommend using Blanco or Reposado tequila.

Blanco tequila is clear and has a sharp, intense flavor. It is the purest form of tequila and is usually less expensive than other types. Reposado tequila is aged for two to twelve months in oak barrels, which mellows the sharp flavor of Blanco tequila and adds smoothness and depth.

Añejo tequila is aged for more than twelve months, which gives it a deep amber color and a complex flavor. Finally, extra Añejo tequila is aged for over three years, resulting in an even deeper amber color and a more complex flavor.

The type of tequila you choose for your skinny margarita recipe is up to you, but we recommend Blanco or Reposado tequila for the best flavor. If you want a sweeter skinny margarita, try Añejo tequila. And if you're looking for a genuinely unique skinny margarita experience, try Extra Añejo tequila (but it may cost you).

How to Rim a Margarita Glass

A single serving of a fresh margarita is traditionally decorated with a lime wedge and salted rim.

To salt your rim properly:

  1. Pour coarse sea salt onto a plate.
  2. Pass a lime wedge around the edge of your glass.
  3. Dip your glass into the salt and give it a quarter turn.
  4. Add your ingredients and garnish the salt-rimmed glass for a typical "margarita on the rocks" presentation.

Congrats, you just made the best margarita!

Did you say Frozen?

Although skinny margaritas are commonly served on the rocks, they can also be blended into delicious frozen margaritas. Add tequila, ice, and our Dirty Pelican Jalapeño Margarita Organic Cocktail Mixer into a blender and blend until smooth. Voilà!
